Since Fridays are my days off, I thought I'd be well rested for my "long run" on Saturday. Though my body may be rested, I am struggling to get enough sleep. We are in Mt. Vernon this weekend staying with my parents. We are here to film a wedding today. (My husband and I have a videography business and we can get pretty busy filming weddings in the summer. www.kaysvideo.com ) Even though there were many people around to play and hold crying babies, I still only got 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night. Ava was hyped on sugar from the numerous potty treats so I couldn't get here down till after midnight. Then Grace needed fed at 2:30 and it took her an hour to get back to sleep. So I got to sleep again from 3:30-6:00. Since it was going to be in the 90s again I had to run after feeding Grace at 6:00.
So luckily today I only had to run 3 miles. I'm worried about the longer runs if my sleeping habits continue. When I was warming up my left knee and right ankle felt really stiff. It worries me because if I begin raising money for Team of Training, I would be so embarrassed to get hurt and not be able to run the marathon. But after warming up and stretching I felt ready to go. And I had a pretty good run. It's always fun to run around Mt. Vernon, my hometown. I ran from my parents' house to Neff's. On the way out and on the way back I passed another dedicated runner out before 7:00. It was cute because his son was riding a bike with him. Sometimes I worry that running is something that takes me away from my girls. So it's nice to think that at some point it could be something we do together.
So anyway, today was 3 miles and I ran an average pace of 9:03. I have a feeling today might be a two frappuccino day.
