Working For It

Last night was a "recovery/easy" run...of 5 miles! It wasn't horribly hard, but the runs are getting quite time consuming and I'm starting to feel the added mileage in my legs. I purposely slowed down quite a bit to take it easy on my shins and ankles. I ran once around my neighborhood and down to Northbend and back. The hardest part about the run last night was the fact that my shins still aren't 100%. I've gotten new shoes, tried to run slower (it's hard for me not to push myself, especially at group runs), and have tried to ice them (it's also hard to find time to be able to sit still long enough to ice my shins. Last night I iced them while cuddling with Ava before she fell asleep! Moms=Multitaskers!) I'm trying not to be nervous about my long run this Saturday...9 miles.

Oh, and I tried the jelly bean carbs last night on my run just to see what they'd be like and they tasted just like candy! Yeah! I'll be using those Saturday!
